Well, the first thing you notice about Amanda is her most beautiful piercing blue eyes! I had to focus on them! And as she had a 20's themed wedding, we went with dark black smokey eyes, keeping the cheeks fresh and dewy and the mouth not too dark.
Maresa gave me free hand on her wedding day, a dream for any Make-up Artist! I gave her dark, smoldering, smoky eyes, she reminded me so much of Audrey Hepburn, which also helped me decide on her hairstyle. We swept her hair in a soft side chignon / bun, she was the epitome of glamour and beauty on her wedding day.
For Catherine we decided on a soft smoky eye, using mauves and browns and lots of shimmer to lift her skin tone. I used a matt foundation to even out the redness in her skin and played up her beautiful cheekbones with a soft shimmer peach powder blush.
Carla is one of those women that is naturally beautiful, even more so without any make-up! However, for the photographs, I needed to even out her skin, as redness although not seen in natural light can become visible through the lens. I did a very natural look, enhancing all her beautiful features.
Dirna has a very translucent skin which often results in dark circles under the eyes and redness around the eye area. To minimize this, I used a lot of concealer around and under the eye area. I placed a lot of emphasis on her beautiful eyes, keeping the rest of the look very soft and romantic.
Erin had a beautiful Grecian inspired wedding dress, so I enhanced this look by using a diamante hair band and lots of volume and height in her hair. The final dramatic touch was the addition of false lashes to her gorgeous smoky eyes.
Ilse is one of the most beautiful people I know! She has strong cheek bones, big eyes and gorgeous features overall. The challenge with Ilse however is the redness in her skin; we had to use a matt foundation to even out her skin tone. As she has such strong features, we kept her make-up soft and natural, however still enhancing all of her striking features.
Jana has the softest, most feminine features, we kept her overall look very soft and natural, I used very little foundation and soft colours on her eyes and lips.
Lara got married in the bush, her husband is a surfer, so naturally, they are very close to nature and she is not a big make-up girl to start with! What was great is that Lara trusted me on the day and gave me the license to make her even more beautiful than she already is! I went all out, played up her eyes, cheeks and mouth, adding a little more make-up than what she is used to and she loved it!
My intention with Martha-Jane was to give her skin a natural glow and this was achieved by using a fair amount of concealer around her eyes to even out the pigmentation and uneven skin tone by using a mineral, sheer foundation. I gave her a soft romantic look which worked brilliantly in the natural soft winter lighting on the day.
Mildie is naturally a pretty girl however she transforms magically when you put make-up on her skin! We needed to even out her skin tone, as she had quite a bit of pigmentation but her natural beauty shone through by keeping the look soft and romantic.
Another ‘Wow’ transformation! Suleen has very fine hair, I used lots of mousse and old fashioned hot rollers to get the body into her hair. Suleen is used to being on stage as a presenter which meant I had the go ahead to be a little more dramatic in the application of make-up compared to the softer look most brides opt for. I loved it!
